What is the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act


The National Geenhouse and Energy Reporting Act is new federal legislation enacted as part of the federal governments policy response to climate change and its proposed emissions trading scheme. It requires that from 1st July 2008 corporations that control a facility that emits 25 kilotonnes or more of greenhouse gas (CO2 equivalent), produces or consumes 100 terajoules or more of energy, emits 125 kilotonnes or more of Greenhouse gas or produces or consumes 500TJ or more of energy report to the GEDO.
